Le Sport Nautique de Nancy is the only rowing club in the urban community of Nancy, which counts about 300.000 inhabitants. 370 members (63 % men and 37 % women), divided in three main categories, practise rowing regularly.
Competitors, totaling about 120 boys and girls and starting at the age of eleven, train several times a week (from three times for the 11-13-year-old on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and Sunday morning, to five or six times for older members).
Over a hundred adults of all ages are offered the possibility of four training sessions per week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Their objective is not to participate in regattas, but to row for their pleasure and their health. Some of them take part in events such as the Vogalonga in Venice, Paris crossing and a few other regional outings.
Le Sport Nautique de Nancy organise a lot of competition in Lorraine like the winter’s cup or spring’s cup.
Since 2009, the club organize special courses with young people in Macon.
