Yacht Club “Capt. G. Georgiev – Port Varna” has 43 years of history and is a non-government organisation focusing on educating and developing kids’ and youth sailing, training young people while they spend more time among nature.

The club consist of 123 members and has employed 3 coaches since 2016 that secure the proper education and training of the young sailors. The club is managed by a Board of 5 people with skills and knowledge both in sailing and in management. All of them are volunteers. The club is a member of the Bulgarian Sailing Federation. We have 34 qualified national Judges and Race Officers.
Our club and its members has organized and hosted more than 200 sailing regattas and became an important starting point for many nautical achievements with club’s sailors in the newest Bulgarian sailing history such as: the first single-handed Bulgarian round-the-world marine trip (conducted by Capt. G.Georgiev – a leading member of our club), the first Bulgarian Black sea yacht crossing, the first International regatta for keel boats sailingin 1976 which is present in the national regatta calendar nowadays, too. Furthermore members of our club won many medals from world renowned trans-Atlantic regattas. We hosted: The World championship “Master Cup 2008”, class 470; European Championship 2009, class Finn; Tall Ships Regatta “Historical Seas 2010” and Tall Ships Regatta “SCF Black Sea2014”. Most of the events and regattas are organized with the kind support and help of the club’s members. We are proud than many of the members are qualified judges with a certificate from the National Judge Committee.
